コレクション: Ariel Abramovich

Ariel Abramovich is an internationally active lute and vihuela player whose artistic activity focuses primarily on the music of 16th-century Europe. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he devoted himself to studying the guitar at an early age before turning to the historical repertoire for lute and vihuela de mano. He subsequently furthered his training with Hopkinson Smith at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland and with Eugène Ferré in France, where he acquired a solid foundation in historical performance practice.

In 1998, Ariel Abramovich and countertenor José Hernández-Pastor founded the duo El Cortesano, which is dedicated to researching and interpreting the Spanish vihuela repertoire. As part of this project, the album “Si me llaman ...” was released in 2009, documenting the songs and instrumental movements from the Libro de música de vihuela (1552) by Spanish composer Diego Pisador in a world premiere recording.

Abramovich is also involved in various chamber music projects, including collaborations with international vocal and lute ensembles as well as interdisciplinary programs that combine historical and improvisational traditions.

Ariel Abramovich's artistic spectrum encompasses both the nuanced interpretation of early modern music and the creative exploration of historical playing techniques for the lute and vihuela.
