New album "Anklam" by Fridolin Blumer

New album "Anklam" by Fridolin Blumer

The first solo album of Swiss double bass player Fridolin Blumer is finally out on all platforms!

We recorded this album in March 24 in the beautiful Klanghaus Studio in Klein Jasedow, close to the baltic sea in north-east Germany. I feel that in this project, the music, instrument and the space formed a perfect symbiosis. Out of the silence of a remote, almost forgotten place in the middle of nowhere, Fridolin created a sound out of his impressive instrument that resonated perfectly. Music, tempo, volume, all parameters seemed to melt and form into a cohesive sonic sculpture. My job was to understand what happened in that moment, and be there with the right microphones, in the right place and moment. Otherwise, I could leave him alone in his artistic universe, which was complete, meaningful and ready to be expressed to the world thorugh this medium of spontaneous, improvised yet intentional recording performance.

Listen to the result, let the sound get to you, like or dislike it, sit with it or run away from it - that's all legit interactions with the sculpture we made. In any case it will make a difference.

Available on all streaming and download platforms, in stereo and Dolby Atmos surround sound, up to 192 Khz / 24 Bit high-resolution audio.
